The Baby Lock Sashiko is a semi-industrial specialty machine that closely imitates the ancient Japanese sashiko embroidery technique . Sashiko has traditionally been used to reinforce worn areas and add decorative stitches to clothing – now you can create the same handcrafted look with a machine.
Baby Lock's ingenious latch thread technology and the special BLQK-N needle create machine stitches that look completely handmade. The open eye of the needle opens and closes during the stitch, so that the thread is picked up only with every other stitch piercing. This unique mechanism creates precise and repeatable stitches and gaps.
Sashiko quilting is particularly suitable for:
