A genuine trace of craftsmanship
For a hand-stitched look, skip pre-shrinking and use batting straight from the package for your patchwork. Luna Kyoto Bamboo batting shrinks about 3% after washing.
Washing/cleaning: Bamboo wadding must be washed at 30 degrees and shrinks about 3% the first time it is washed. We cannot recommend pre-washing the bamboo batting, because the untreated fibers quickly fray. It is much easier to work if it is not dealt with.
If you want to wash the patchwork lined with bamboo fleece in the washing machine, sew a test piece of fabric+bamboo wadding+backing fabric and wash it with wool wash or delicate wash at 30 degrees to see if the bamboo stays in shape. If it does not stay, wash the patchwork by hand with lukewarm water, roll the work with a towel and gently squeeze the washed part.
If there are no stains on the patchwork, shaking and airing it is usually sufficient for cleaning.
Fiber fabrics made of bamboo and cotton can fade when treated with too hot water with detergent and excessive spin. Therefore, remember to follow the care instructions above.
