Sashiko thread #138 Uguisu is an olive green cotton thread. Uguisu (鶯) means Japanese bush warbler in Japanese — a harbinger of spring whose feathers are exactly this dark, warm olive green color. The name carries with it centuries of Japanese nature poetry tradition.
The thread is excellent for sashiko and hitomezashi embroidery, decorative stitching, visible mending, and other craft projects. A 100-meter skein provides enough thread for both small details and larger surfaces.
