The coarse and breathable Sarashi cotton fabric is an excellent choice for work with thicker sashiko threads. The fabric's slightly open weave makes it easy to pierce and ideal for traditional Japanese decorative quilting.

Traditionally, the fabric is folded in half, which hides the ends of the threads and knots – a beautiful result on both sides!
