Olympus Hana-Fukin Sashiko Embroidery Kit – Yoshiwara Tsunagi White
Bring home the Japanese craft tradition! Hana-Fukin ("flower cloth") is a traditional Japanese cotton cloth on which beautiful geometric patterns are embroidered with sashiko stitches. In this kit, the pattern is Yoshiwara-Tsunagi – a traditional chain pattern originating from Japan's Edo period, where interlocking rings symbolize connection and continuity. The repetitive, rhythmic pattern makes embroidering an almost meditative experience.
The embroidery instructions are pre-printed on the fabric – all you need to do is thread the needle and start stitching. The guide lines disappear with washing, leaving only your beautiful embroidery.
The finished cloth is suitable for:
- As a kitchen towel or placemat
- For a pillowcase, bag, or patchwork
- Decorating clothes or home textiles
- Framing as a wall decoration
The kit includes:
- Pre-printed 100% cotton fabric (white, approx. 34 × 34 cm)
- Illustrated embroidery instructions
Please note: Thread and needle are not included in the kit. Approximately 80 m of sashiko thread is needed for embroidery.
Care instructions: Hand wash in lukewarm water after embroidering and dry in the shade.
Suitable for: beginners and advanced embroiderers.
