Aurifil 12wt Red (2250) is a high-quality 100% cotton thread that is perfect for hand sewing, hand quilting, sashiko and many other craft projects. This thick and strong thread adds a wonderful texture to embellishments, lacework, hand embroidery and many other techniques. The spool contains 325 meters of thread and is also perfect for specialty techniques such as redwork and reinforcement stitches.
Recommended uses:
- Hand quilting and embroidery
- Sashiko and redwork
- Machine applique and machine embroidery
- Lace trim and buttonhole stitch
Needle recommendations:
- 100/16 or 90/14 topstitch needle (40wt on spool)
- Longarm needle 4.5 (28wt spool)
Tips:
When using 12wt thread on the machine, we recommend that you have a significantly thinner thread on the spool, such as 40wt, for best results.
